EJOLT is currently hiring a research student for a one year contract, extendable to 2 years to provide support for the Mapping of Ecological Conflicts. The student will have to register for a Phd at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and will be based in Barcelona.

Aim:
To take part in the FP7 EJOLT project (Environmental Justice Organizations, Liabilities and Trade), www.ejolt.org, as part of the ICTA-UAB coordinating unit. The project focuses on collaborative research between academics and civil society organizations. It aims to carry out a large inventory and maps of resource extraction conflicts and waste disposal conflicts.
Main Tasks:

To collaborate in filling in Database Forms on environmental conflicts, and check quality of those already filled in by EJOLT partners.

To cooperate in Database management, mapping and statistical analysis.
Eligibility Criteria:

Master in Environmental Sciences, in Political Ecology, Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science or analogous

Perfect knowledge of English, knowledge of other major languages is an advantage
-
Database management, GIS, statistics
-
Knowledge of Asian countries is not a requirement but would be welcome

Willing to matriculate in the Environmental Sciences PhD Program / Master Program at UAB
Contract Details:

Full time position, one year in the first instance, can be extended to two years.

Compatible with work on PhD thesis, drawing on information and support from EJOLT project

Hours of work: From 9 to 5, Monday to Friday

Annual contract gross salary of 14.391,63 €.

The tuition fees to the PhD studies will be paid by the project.
